Join us for Drowning Prevention Week: June 14th - 21st 2025

Summer is approaching, and we are proud to support the Royal Life Saving Society UK’s Drowning Prevention Week campaign from June 14 to June 21, 2025.

What is Drowning Prevention Week?

Drowning Prevention Week is one of the largest water safety campaigns in the UK and Ireland. Its mission is to raise awareness and educate the public about safe practices in and around water, ensuring that everyone can enjoy water activities safely.

Our Contribution

At Live Life Aberdeenshire, we are committed to enhancing water safety through various activities and initiatives:

  • Bookbug and Aquarium Pop-Up – Monday 16 June
Join us in Community Room 3 at the Deveron Community and Sports Centre for a special session from 12noon to 1pm. Enjoy drop-in animal handling and a Bookbug story session at 12:30 p.m.
  • Ellon Community Campus & Pool – Tuesday 17 June
Come along for Bookbug songs, rhymes, and a splash-about session from 11:15 am to 11:30 am.
  • Local Library Sessions
Delivering engaging Water Safety Bookbug sessions at local libraries.
  • Swimming Lessons at LLA leisure centres
Incorporating essential water safety messages into all swim lessons, reaching over 9,000 participants.

Collaborative Efforts

Working closely with our partners and colleagues to maximize the reach and impact of our activities.

Focus on Children and Young People
