Frequently Asked Questions

To try and help you navigate your way through our online sign up and payment systems, we've put together a series of frequently asked questions.

Online Bookings

Can I just turn up and take part?

No.  Active Schools sessions must be booked in advance.  This ensures our coaches have all relevant information. 

Why we ask you to book online if possible

Booking online is safer and more convenient for a number of reasons:

  • It reduces the cross infection possibilities from cash and paperwork handling
  • It allows us to monitor numbers and avoids disappointment if customers simply turn up to a session that has already reached its maximum capacity
  • It allows us to ask for and store the details we need in order to comply with the Test and Protect system

How do I book online?

Please use the Active Schools online booking form. This form can be found via your local Active Schools network page. 

Do I sign up using my details or my child / children’s details?

Please sign up using your child / children’s details.

I cannot seem to book the activity I want online

Active Schools sessions are not web bookable via our payment system. To book any Active Schools session you should use our separate online form for your local network from that please select the "Book network activities online" button.

To see the activities on offer in your local network please ensure you have selected the correct network page.

Online Payment

What are the charges?

Charges for Active Schools sessions vary.  Details of the charges are indicated on the online booking form and will be included as part of the confirmation process.

Do I have to pay online or can I pay on site?

At this time we are asking that all payments are made online. Unfortunately, we cannot accept telephone or cash payments but card payments can be made on site if absolutely necessary.  We will need you to make these payments at one of our Live Life Aberdeenshire Sports Centres or Swimming Pools. To make the payment you will need to let the cashier know what the activity is and where it is taking place especially if they are not at the same facility you are trying to make the payment at.

How do I register as a concession?

You will need to email us on active@aberdeenshire.gov.uk or call 01467 530777 (Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm) to be set up as a low income concession on the system.

How do I make payment online for confirmed sessions

If any of the activities you have booked have a cost you will receive details in the confirmation of how to pay for these.

If your child / children has/have been part of Live Life Aberdeenshire’s Learn to Swim programme, had a family memberships or used our online booking process you will already have a member ID. You will be asked to enter your child / children’s member ID to pay for any sessions.

If you do not already have this then you can register your child / children as a new user which involves registering your details with us. On doing this you will receive a member ID and PIN for your future use.

Once you have been allocated a space on your chosen activity / activities your Active Schools Coordinator will update you when payment is available.  The sessions that you have been allocated will appear in your child's basket.

I have forgotten my login and/or PIN – what should I do?

Not a problem this can be resent automatically. PIN reminders can be sent to you directly online by using the forgotten my pin function

I still cannot find my ID online

If you are tried all other avenues and still cannot find your member ID please phone: Live Life Aberdeenshire Helpline: 01467 532929 (Mon to Sun, 9 am - 8 pm)

I am a direct debit member, do I have to pay per session?

Yes, as there are no direct debit membership payments being taken at the moment.  These are all frozen.
