This landmark event will see 150 competitors from 15 countries take to the icy waters of Stonehaven’s iconic seawater pool to compete in 15 events, ranging from the 50-metre freestyle dash to the gruelling 1,000 metre (1K) freestyle - widely regarded as one of the toughest endurance challenges in cold-water sport.
Spectators are warmly invited to attend and experience this free, unique sporting event and can just come to the pool and walk in to watch. The café will also be open to get a hot drink or snack - or if you are not local to Stonehaven, come for a visit and then wander around the town for some Christmas shopping or a coffee and cake.
Inspired to try it out for yourself? Public cold water swimming sessions are available at Stonehaven Open Air Pool on Saturday 29th November, bookable on our app. Cold water swimming will resume on Saturdays after the championships, from 13th December.
If you have any specific questions around the event or public sessions, please feel free to email and one of the team will get back to you.
