Adults Learn to Ski Lessons Membership Terms and Conditions

 

1. Lessons Membership is optional and available to adults who have been allocated a space on the adult skiing lessons program.

 

2. Membership includes:

  • A minimum of 37 Learn to Ski sessions per full school year*, including the following:

- Beginner and intermediate levels

- Individually focused tuition (where no progress in 1 year)

- Open teaching sessions

- Hire of ski equipment to be used in the session

  • Access to all public or family or open lesson ski sessions in Aberdeenshire Council ski centres at no additional cost**.

 

3. Membership does not include:

  • Access to sessions at Council facilities organised and delivered by third parties
  • Access to dry side activities e.g., sports hall
  • Inclusive access for family members who are not Learn to Ski Members
  • Cross country or roller ski at Huntly Nordic
  • Hire of equipment for Clashindarroch Forest
  • More than 1 block lesson per week

 

4. All members are bound by Aberdeenshire Council management rules; displayed in reception areas. Aberdeenshire Council reserves the right to refuse admission or ask members to leave any Aberdeenshire Council facility if a member of staff considers that you are in breach of the rules. Persistent breach of the rules will result in termination of membership of Learn to Ski Membership.

 

5. Learn to Ski Membership does not guarantee availability when booking holiday intensive ski lessons or attending skiing or tubing sessions.

 

6. Initial payments will only be accepted at your local ski centre by cheque (payable to Aberdeenshire Council), cash or debit card.

 

7. Membership of Learn to Ski constitutes a legally binding contract with Aberdeenshire Council. Monthly payments must be paid until the contract is terminated by either party for whatever reason.

 

8. Learn to Ski members who wish to pay by Direct Debit (DD) must pay a minimum of three months membership by Direct Debit. Failure to do so may result in the removal of the option to pay by Direct Debit for a period of up to 12 months.

 

9. Learn to Ski Membership fees will only be refunded if Aberdeenshire Council provides fewer than 37 Learn to Ski sessions in any full school year. Refund will be £10 per lesson cancelled below the minimum of 37 lessons over that school year. *

 

10. Notification of any change in contact details or concession entitlement must be given in writing or by email to Learn to Ski Membership (postal and email address below). Members should ensure that personal contact details are always kept up to date.

 

11. Direct Debit amendments and/or membership cancellations can only be processed between 1st and 15th of any month. Requests received after this period will be processed in the next update period (1st – 15th of the following month). Once processed a confirmation of change or cancellation letter will be sent.

 

12. Cancellations will take effect from the beginning of the month after the change has been processed.

 

13. Learn to Ski membership is not transferable. Any use other than by the named person will result in immediate cancellation of membership by Aberdeenshire Council without refund.

 

Aberdeenshire Council reserves the right to refuse any person to the Learn to Ski Membership scheme.

14. Membership fees will be reviewed and amended in accordance with Aberdeenshire Council policy. Fees are currently reviewed annually, and a minimum of 28 days’ notice will be given of any amendment via letter.

 

15. Aberdeenshire Council will give members at least 14 days’ notice in writing if the Council cancel or amend Learn to Ski membership terms and conditions.

 

16. Failure to make the appropriate payment on two consecutive payment dates will result in suspension of membership.

 

17. Membership may be reinstated in the following circumstances:

  • All arrears are fully paid
  • New application and paperwork submitted

 

18. Any outstanding fees must be settled by the date of cancellation.

 

19. Action will be taken to recover any fees outstanding at the date of cancellation.
