Lowhills Refresher Training Scheme

Our Lowhills Refresher Training scheme operates within the Council’s management procedures and policies of safe practice.

Entry to the scheme is designed to encourage those members of staff with minimal hillwalking experience to participate in training, enabling them to lead groups on low hills terrain. The training is intended to provide staff with a basic level of knowledge and expertise to lead and supervise groups on this terrain.

The Low Hills Refresher is designed as update training course for any staff who have completed the full Low Hills training within the last 3-5 years. This course is a mandatory update for anyone who wishes to continue supervising groups of young people in the outdoors out with this time.

This training will provide staff with a basic level of knowledge and expertise to lead and supervise groups on terrain between 300m – 600m.

Candidates should bring along their completed Low Hills logbook of experience since their previous training course and are expected to bring along kit suitable for hill walking.
