Roller Skiing

Roller skiing is a great sport which can be done in a wide space on any flat smooth surface, away from traffic.

A pair of short roller skis (60-70cm) are used which have a wheel at either end. Cross country ski bindings attached skiers to the ski by the toe end of a special but comfortable boot which allows flexibility to generate glide. Gliding on a hard surface is a great way to travel.

Safety equipment of a helmet and gloves are required to take part and safety glasses if using poles. Helmets and safety glasses can be provided. Elbow and knee pads are optional.

Roller skiing is the closest summer sport to cross country skiing but is also a great fun sport in its own right at any time of year. Balance and technique skills are built up over a period of time.

Roller skiing is designed for 8 years and over Instructors build skills in balance and technique to allow efficient and safe roller skiing on flat, uphill and downhill terrain.
