Question: Which of the titles that you received at Christmas would you recommend and why?

  1. “The Botanist” by M. W. Craven love all his books. Washington Poe is the main character, and his sidekick is Tilly Bradshaw. If you like crime novels give them a go.
  2. “Rick Stein's Simple Suppers” - lots of ideas for tasty but uncomplicated meals.
  3. “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” by Maya Angelou. Fascinating autobiography, not challenging to read; though the story and depiction of discrimination gives one plenty to reflect on.
  4. Loved the hardback copy of “Three Go to the Chalet School” by Elinor Brent-Dyer - the paperback missed out a whole romance and engagement!
  5. I am really enjoying ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stane’ translated into Scots by Matthew Fitt.
  6. No new books this year as making the most of the Libby app - currently reading the Skulduggery Pleasant books by Derek Landy. A bit of light-hearted fun and fantasy.
