Creative Aberdeenshire Network Investment

2022 - 2023 saw an investment in nine projects that successfully applied for a Creative Aberdeenshire Network package. Over £18,000 supported both the creative sector and their communities across Aberdeenshire, with new opportunities all designed, in their unique way, to increase confidence, be part of a wider network of creative places and create an authentic Aberdeenshire cultural identity.

These initiatives saw new developments of artist-led collaborations, creative community ownership, encouraging a strong and diverse culture of creativity in the North East.

After a series of events, including in-person meetings and online listening circles, our continued conversations with our creative communities identified four key ambitions:

  • Creative community - a way for our communities to feel part of one connected network
  • Sense of place - for communities to identify their authentic cultural offering
  • Opportunities to share - people purposefully coming together to celebrate community creativity
  • Space to connect - a transparent, accessible way for creative communities to work together

So, as a starting point to support and address these ambitions, the following creative partnerships ensued...

This initiative is led by Live Life Aberdeenshire's Cultural Services and is part-funded through a Place Partnership with Creative Scotland.
